JOB SUMMARY:
The Systems Engineer I supports the NORAD Cheyenne Mountain Complex (NCMC) Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II) program. This position supports systems engineering activities throughout the engineering lifecycle, including requirements analysis, documentation, integration, testing, and sustainment of mission-critical systems.
The engineer will work independently on assigned tasks while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure technical requirements are understood, documented, implemented, and verified. The role supports the application of systems engineering processes and methodologies in a classified operational environment.
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Support systems engineering activities for mission and operational systems supporting NISSC II.
Interpret customer, operational, and technical requirements and perform analyses to ensure objectives are met.
Develop, maintain, and update systems engineering documentation, artifacts, databases, and related technical records.
Apply systems engineering processes and methodologies throughout the system lifecycle.
Support requirements development, traceability, verification, and validation activities.
Participate in system integration, testing, troubleshooting, and sustainment efforts.
Coordinate assigned engineering activities and assist in the planning and execution of project tasks.
Analyze engineering problems of moderate scope and develop practical technical solutions.
Review task outputs for completeness, accuracy, and alignment with project objectives.
Support engineering reviews, technical meetings, and customer discussions.
Collaborate with software, infrastructure, cybersecurity, operations, and program teams to ensure successful execution of program objectives.
Support process improvement initiatives and engineering best practices.
Maintain compliance with applicable security requirements, policies, and procedures.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Active Secret Clearance.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, or related technical discipline.
0 to 3 years of engineering or systems engineering experience.
Experience independently evaluating, selecting, adapting, and applying engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to accomplish assigned work.
Experience planning, coordinating, or supporting engineering tasks and technical activities.
Knowledge of Systems Engineering V-Model methodologies.
Experience working with engineering models - preferably in a Cameo environment.
Ability to analyze requirements and ensure technical objectives are met.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Visio.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.
Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) concepts preferred.
Familiarity with Agile development methodologies preferred.
Familiarity with SysML preferred.
Experience supporting integration, testing, troubleshooting, or sustainment activities preferred.
Experience supporting Department of Defense or national security programs preferred.
Experience working in classified environments preferred.
Familiarity with requirements management and systems engineering documentation tools preferred.

Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in the base salary.
