The Senior Program Manager leads strategic programs and drives hands‑on operational execution across multiple Bonneville Labs sites. This role builds structured systems, harmonizes workflows, and ensures programs move from planning to completion with clarity, accountability, and measurable outcomes. The Senior Program Manager works at both the high‑level planning layer and the day‑to‑day execution layer to support operational excellence, member experience, and continuous improvement.

This role is essential for aligning timelines, goals, documentation, and operational systems across the Bonneville Labs ecosystem. The Senior Program Manager supports our product mindset by treating each site, service, and workflow as a versioned product that requires continuous improvement, measurable outcomes, and predictable release cycles.

Responsibilities and Duties

Program Leadership and Oversight

• Lead assigned programs from ideation through planning, launch, and completion.
• Balance strategic planning with hands‑on execution to keep programs moving without gaps or delays.
• Ensure each project phase has clear ownership, verified completion, and documented quality checks.
• Conduct post‑implementation reviews and initiate timely improvements when needed.
• Oversee program dashboards, timelines, and tracking systems using Smartsheets, UpKeep, and related platforms.
• Identify execution gaps and intervene to ensure corrective actions are taken.
• Provide coaching, oversight, and accountability management for the Project Supervisor.
• Translate operational needs into structured backlogs, sprints, and release cycles.
• Maintain consistent standards, workflows, and performance expectations across all sites.

Cross‑Functional Coordination

• Coordinate work across Lab Operations, Lab Safety and Compliance, Facilities, Member Services, Community, Scientific Services, and Business Operations.
• Facilitate communication and reporting to ensure clarity of expectations, deliverables, and timelines.
• Lead cross‑functional project meetings, document decisions, and track action items.
• Support multi‑site initiatives and harmonization of processes across all Bonneville Labs locations.
• Serve as a central point of contact for program updates, escalations, and issue resolution.
• Partner with leadership to ensure programs support member experience, operational uptime, and regulatory compliance.
• Support KPI tracking across programs including uptime, NPS, SLA adherence, and operational efficiency.

Documentation and Quality Management

• Develop, update, and implement SOPs, protocols, and operational documentation.
• Maintain document control procedures including version control, access permissions, and archival.
• Ensure documentation meets regulatory, safety, and quality standards in coordination with the Senior Manager of EHS.
• Convert tribal knowledge into structured, repeatable documentation that supports future site expansion.
• Support continuous improvement of the Quality Management System.
• Assist in development and implementation of Environmental Health and Safety Management Plans and operational guidelines.

Continuous Improvement and Product Mindset

• Identify inefficiencies and propose improvements to workflows, systems, and processes.
• Implement tools and methodologies that enhance tracking, documentation, and reporting.
• Lead harmonization and continuous improvement projects across teams and sites.
• Support development of operational frameworks, testing services, and scalable systems for future sites.
• Recommend improvements that support member experience and operational excellence.
• Support automation initiatives such as ticket routing, asset tracking, and predictive maintenance pilots.
• Contribute to monthly or quarterly operational release notes.
• Coordinate predictable release cycles and communicate improvements across teams and to members.

Operations and Site Support

• Support day‑to‑day operations across multiple Bonneville Labs sites.
• Assist with project planning and ownership of assigned operational systems.
• Provide onsite or virtual support for Bay Area sites as determined by leadership.
• Prepare detailed presentations summarizing program status, risks, and outcomes.
• Support emergency response coordination and communication with external stakeholders when needed.
• Ensure suppliers, contractors, and member companies comply with Bonneville Labs policies and safety guidelines.
• Support operational readiness for new site launches through documentation, playbooks, and process standardization.
• Monitor vendor and contractor performance to ensure service levels support operational uptime and member experience.

Stakeholder and Member Support

• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, external partners, and member companies.
• Ensure member experience is considered in all program planning and execution.
• Support communication with vendors, contractors, and service partners.
• Contribute to maintaining an enjoyable and productive work environment for member companies.
• Support data collection and analysis to improve member NPS, operational uptime, and service quality.
• Use data insights to identify friction points and support targeted operational improvements.

Qualifications and Requirements

Education and Experience

• BS or BA in Business, Science, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in program management, project management, business operations, or related fields.
• Experience managing multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment.
• Experience developing or implementing SOPs, guidelines, or quality systems.
• Experience in life science, biotech, lab operations, or regulated environments is preferred.
• Experience supporting or coordinating multi‑site operations is preferred.

Skills and Competencies

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage complex projects and competing priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with project management tools such as Smartsheets, Microsoft Project, Visio, Salesforce, or similar platforms.
• Detail oriented with strong problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to mentor and guide junior staff, including the Project Supervisor.
• Customer service mindset with the ability to work effectively with member companies.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across diverse teams.
• Strong business acumen including understanding cost and benefit tradeoffs, customer retention, and operational efficiency.
• Comfort with basic automation tools, dashboards, and data tracking systems.

Additional Requirements

• This role is remote capable. Remote candidates must work on West Coast time and travel to Bay Area sites at least once per quarter.
• Valid driver's license.
• EH and S, HazMat, or bloodborne pathogen training is desirable but not required.
