Day in the Life:
As the Retail Specialist, you'll support the Arizona Humane Society's three pet-centered retail stores while creating a welcoming and enjoyable shopping experience for adopters, pet owners, and members of the community. This role is perfect for someone with a positive, energetic attitude who is passionate about customer service and enjoys building lasting relationships with every guest who walks through the door.
In this role, you'll greet and assist customers, recommend products to meet their needs, and help achieve sales goals, personal goals and department goals. You'll also maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked retail environment, assist with inventory and cash handling, answer customer inquiries by phone and online, support and train retail volunteers. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment where every purchase helps support animals in need, this is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact.

Physical Demands/Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and walk up to 8 hours at a time, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. There will be exposure to dust, heat, cold and temperature changes, wet floors, and animal noises, odors and dander. Most of the time will be spent in a typical air-conditioned and heated retail environment.
