Role Overview
As part of the Mahindra Auto Division, the Engineering Lead will be responsible for leading end-to-end vehicle and component engineering activities across Special Vehicle Programs (SPV), New Utility (NU) Platforms, Vehicle Accessories Programs (VAP), and Accessories. This role will provide technical leadership across engineering disciplines, ensuring that products meet performance, safety, quality, cost, and regulatory requirements throughout the product development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering Strategy & Program Leadership
Lead vehicle and component engineering activities across SPV, NU Platform, VAP, and Accessories programs.
Establish engineering objectives, technical roadmaps, and development plans aligned with business priorities and product strategies.
Engineering Sign-off & Technical Governance
Own engineering sign-off processes across product development stages.
Ensure all engineering deliverables meet performance, reliability, quality, and regulatory requirements prior to program approvals and launches.
Validation & Quality Engineering
Drive Design Verification Plan (DVP) execution and validation strategy across vehicle systems and components.
Lead DFMEA activities to identify and mitigate technical risks early in the development process.
Homologation & Regulatory Compliance
Define and oversee homologation strategy for vehicles and accessories.
Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory standards, customer requirements, and certification processes through collaboration with testing and homologation teams.
Functional Team Leadership
Lead and mentor CAE, Electrical & Electronics (E&E), Structural Engineering, Testing, and Validation teams.
Build technical capabilities, strengthen engineering processes, and foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
Engineering Feasibility & Design Integration
Drive engineering feasibility reviews in collaboration with Design and Product Development (PD) teams.
Balance design intent, technical feasibility, manufacturability, performance, safety, and commercial objectives during product development.
Key Skills & Competencies
Strong expertise in vehicle engineering and automotive product development.
Deep knowledge of Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) methodologies and applications.
Proven experience in homologation and regulatory compliance.
Strong understanding of DFMEA, DVP, and engineering validation processes.
Demonstrated cross-functional leadership and program management capabilities.
Strong technical decision-making and problem-solving skills.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities.

Education Qualification
Experience & Qualifications
8–10 years of experience in automotive engineering, vehicle development, product engineering, or technical program leadership roles.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
Master's degree in Engineering, Technology Management, or Business Administration preferred.
Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and complex automotive development programs is highly desirable.
Strong exposure to vehicle platforms, validation, homologation, and launch activities within an automotive OEM environment.
