Full job description
CNC Machinist — Build Complex Parts. Grow Your Career. $23–$45/hour, depending on experience and capability | Englewood, Colorado | Full-time
Some machinists spend years loading the same part into the same machine. At Reata Engineering, the work—and your career—can keep moving forward.
We manufacture complex, tight-tolerance parts for aerospace, defense, medical, semiconductor and industrial customers. These are parts that matter, made for industries where precision and reliability are essential. They are also the kinds of challenging parts that many other machine shops won’t quote.
Whether you have one year of CNC experience and want to become a setup machinist, or you already know how to take ownership of a complex multi-axis job, we want to talk with you.
Find your next level at Reata
We are hiring CNC machinists across a range of experience levels. Your responsibilities, equipment and starting pay will be based on what you can do today—and we’ll help you build toward what you want to do next.
If you are developing your skills, you may begin by operating proven jobs, inspecting your work, making offsets and learning increasingly complex setups.
If you are an experienced setup machinist, you can take ownership of jobs from setup through stable production, including tooling, workholding, first-piece prove-out and troubleshooting.
If you are an advanced multi-axis or mill-turn machinist, you can work with Mazak Integrex and other sophisticated equipment, combining turning, milling, live tooling and multi-axis operations in a single setup.
You do not need to qualify for the highest level to apply. You need at least one year of CNC machining experience, a solid foundation and the desire to keep improving.
The machines behind the work
Reata has invested heavily in advanced machining and automation technology, including:
Mazak Integrex multitasking machines
Automated 5-axis machining centers
Horizontal machining centers with pallet automation
CNC turning centers
Vertical machining centers
Swiss turning equipment
Robots, bar feeders and automated pallet systems
You won’t be limited to running one machine or one type of part forever. As your capabilities grow, opportunities exist to move into more advanced setups, multi-axis machining, programming and process ownership.
What the work looks like
Depending on your experience, you may:
Read prints, travelers and inspection requirements
Load tools, materials and programs
Make offsets and monitor tool wear
Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges and other equipment
Plan and complete CNC setups
Select and qualify tooling, fixtures and workholding
Prove out programs and produce first-piece parts
Adjust feeds, speeds and toolpaths
Interpret GD&T and hold tight tolerances
Edit Mazatrol or G-code programs
Troubleshoot dimensional, tooling, finish and process issues
Identify better ways to make parts safely, efficiently and consistently
This is a shop where machinists are expected to think. If you see a better way to make a part, your input matters.
What you should bring
At a minimum, you should have:
At least one year of CNC machining experience
Basic blueprint-reading and measurement skills
Familiarity with tooling, offsets and part inspection
A commitment to quality and safety
Reliability, curiosity and a willingness to learn
The ability to work collaboratively and take ownership of your work
For more advanced placement and compensation, we are especially interested in experience with:
Independent CNC mill or lathe setups
Mazak Integrex or comparable mill-turn equipment
5-axis or multitasking machining
Mazatrol, G-code, Mastercam or Esprit
Complex prints and GD&T
Tight-tolerance aerospace, medical, defense or semiconductor work
Troubleshooting and process improvement
You do not need experience with every machine or process listed. We will evaluate where your skills fit today and discuss a path for continued growth.
Pay that reflects what you can do
Starting pay ranges from $23–$45 per hour, based on demonstrated experience and capability:
Developing CNC machinists: generally $23–$29/hour
Independent setup machinists: generally $30–$40/hour
Advanced Integrex, mill-turn or multi-axis machinists: generally $35–$45/hour
Overtime opportunities are available and can meaningfully increase total earnings.
Why build your career at Reata?
Complex, high-mix work instead of running the same part indefinitely
Modern equipment with advanced automation
Opportunities to progress into setups, multi-axis machining, programming and process ownership
Medical, dental and vision insurance
Company-paid life insurance and long-term disability coverage
401(k) with company match, including traditional and Roth options
Paid time off and paid holidays
Tuition reimbursement, training and professional certification opportunities
Day, night and weekend shift opportunities
Relocation assistance for qualifying candidates
A team-oriented environment where people share knowledge and solve problems together
Let’s talk
If you have built a foundation in CNC machining and want to see how far you can take it, apply—even if you don’t check every preferred box.
Tell us:
Which machines you have worked with
What types of setups or parts you have handled
What you know how to do independently
What you want to learn next
We are interested in where you are today and where you have the potential to go.
