How You Grow Here
We do not believe in flat roles. Your responsibility and value grow as you become safer, more reliable, more efficient, and more trusted by customers and the team.
Strong drivers continue developing their knowledge of routes, customer expectations, load securement, DOT compliance, equipment care, and delivery problem-solving.
Progression is earned through performance, not just time on the job.

Training and development opportunities
Stable, full-time work
What You’ll Do
Safely operate company tractors and trailers on daily multi-stop delivery routes
Deliver and pick up steel products from customers, vendors, and processing partners
Secure loads using chains, binders, straps, tarps, and approved securement equipment
Apply and remove tarps to protect material from weather, road debris, and damage
Get in and out of the cab and on and off the trailer throughout the route
Perform required pre-trip and post-trip inspections
Maintain accurate electronic driver logs using an ELD system
Follow DOT hours-of-service, inspection, and documentation requirements
Maintain bills of lading, packing slips, delivery paperwork, signatures, and route documentation
Verify the truck, trailer, load, securement, and paperwork before leaving
Plan and adjust routes to support safe, efficient, and on-time deliveries
Maneuver trailers into customer docks, industrial facilities, and tight delivery areas
Communicate delays, equipment problems, load issues, and customer concerns early
Interact professionally with customers during deliveries and pickups
Assist with loading, unloading, and material handling when required
Keep the truck, cab, trailer, equipment, and paperwork clean and organized
What We Expect
You check the truck, check the load, and do not leave until you know it is safe
You follow load-securement and tarping procedures every time, regardless of weather or schedule pressure
You stay calm through traffic, weather, tight delivery locations, route changes, and customer frustration
You keep your paperwork, route information, and delivery documents organized
You communicate early when a delivery is delayed or something is not right
You drive safely and remain aware of motorists, pedestrians, customer employees, and the public
You do not take shortcuts on the road, at the customer’s facility, or with the load
You represent Precision Steel professionally and respectfully at every stop
You bring customer feedback back to the right people instead of creating confusion or drama
You show up reliably and understand that customers and coworkers are counting on you
Required Qualifications
Valid CDL Class A
At least 2 years of commercial driving experience involving multiple delivery stops per day
Experience securing loads using chains, binders, straps, tarps, or similar equipment
Experience using an electronic logging device for routes and hours-of-service records
Ability to perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections accurately
Ability to maintain bills of lading, delivery documents, logs, and required paperwork
Ability to climb in and out of the cab and safely get on and off the trailer
Ability to tarp, strap, unstrap, secure, and inspect loads in varying weather conditions
Ability to follow DOT requirements, company policies, and safe-driving practices
Reliable attendance and strong communication skills
Professional attitude when interacting with customers, vendors, and internal teams
Ability to meet company and insurance driving requirements
Preferred Qualifications
Flatbed, Conestoga, steel, metal, manufacturing, or industrial delivery experience
Experience maneuvering 48- to 53-foot trailers in tight docks, narrow driveways, congested areas, or city traffic
Experience driving in snow, heavy rain, and other difficult road conditions
Customer-facing delivery experience
Experience loading or unloading steel, heavy material, skids, or industrial products
Forklift or other material-handling equipment experience
Familiarity with Geotab or similar ELD and fleet-management systems
What Winning Looks Like
Loads are checked, properly secured, protected, and delivered without damage
Pre-trip, post-trip, ELD, and delivery documentation are complete and accurate
Stops are completed safely, on time, and with the correct paperwork
Customers see a prepared, respectful, and professional driver
The truck, trailer, cab, and securement equipment stay clean, safe, and organized
Delays, problems, and customer feedback are communicated early
You remain steady and professional when routes or schedules change
You help protect the customer relationship, not just complete the delivery
Why Precision Steel
Drivers are the face of Precision Steel. Most customers do not see everything that happened before delivery—they see the driver, the truck, the material, and the condition in which it arrives.
We are looking for CDL Class A drivers who take pride in how they do the job, understand the responsibility they carry, and represent the company professionally. A strong driver does more than finish the route. They protect the load, the public, the customer relationship, and the reputation of the entire company.
Fast hiring process: interview, shop tour and driving review, and quick decision for the right person.
