Full job description
Talent Acquisition Lead
Whistler, BC | Full-Time | $60,000–$75,000
Build Your Career in Whistler — While Helping Others Build Theirs
At Gibbons Whistler, we believe great businesses start with great people.
We’re looking for a Talent Acquisition Lead to take ownership of how we find, attract and hire exceptional people across our growing group of hospitality, tourism and experience businesses.
This is more than a recruitment role. You’ll build talent pipelines before we need them, partner with leaders to find the right people for their teams, strengthen our employer brand, and help create a candidate experience that makes people excited to build their career with Gibbons.
We like people who are curious, ambitious and willing to tackle hard problems — together.
If you love connecting great people with great opportunities and want the opportunity to make a visible impact across a growing Whistler organization, we’d love to meet you.
What You’ll Own
Find great people. Lead recruitment across operational, management and leadership positions, from proactive sourcing and screening through to successful hire.
Build the pipeline before we need it. Develop talent pools for our key roles and work ahead of seasonal peaks so we're not starting from zero when hiring demand increases.
Partner with our leaders. Work directly with hiring managers and the Director of People & Culture to understand what great looks like, develop ideal candidate profiles and create effective recruitment strategies.
Make the candidate experience exceptional. Create a recruitment journey that is organized, responsive and genuinely represents what it's like to be part of Gibbons.
Help tell the Gibbons story. Support our employer brand across LinkedIn, recruitment campaigns, hiring fairs, community partnerships and other creative ways of reaching great talent.
Use data to make us better. Track time-to-fill, retention, source effectiveness and other recruitment metrics — then use what you learn to continuously improve how we hire.
Find the hard-to-find people. Take particular ownership of proactive sourcing for leadership, specialist and hard-to-fill positions.
What Success Looks Like
You won't just be measured on how many positions you fill. We care about finding the right people, at the right time, who stay and succeed.
You'll help us:
Build strong pipelines for future hiring needs.
Fill priority roles quickly and effectively.
Improve new-hire retention.
Reduce the amount of time operational leaders spend recruiting.
Create a consistently excellent candidate experience.
Strengthen Gibbons' reputation as a place where great people can build meaningful careers.
What You Bring
We're looking for someone who combines people skills with a results mindset.
You'll likely thrive in this role if you:
Have experience in recruitment, talent acquisition or a similar people-focused role.
Are confident proactively sourcing candidates rather than waiting for applications to arrive.
Build relationships quickly and communicate exceptionally well.
Can manage multiple recruitment priorities without losing attention to detail.
Enjoy working with hiring managers and aren't afraid to challenge thinking when it leads to a better hire.
Are comfortable using recruitment data and metrics to measure your impact.
Take ownership and follow through.
Bring ideas, energy and curiosity to your work.
Enjoy a fast-moving environment where priorities can change and people work together to solve problems.
Experience recruiting within hospitality, tourism or other high-volume environments is an asset, but we're equally interested in people who can bring strong talent acquisition skills from another industry.
Why Gibbons?
We're a Whistler-grown company built around one purpose: Making People Happy.
Our businesses span hospitality, nightlife, accommodation, adventure tourism and experiences, creating opportunities to recruit everything from someone's first job in Whistler to the next leader of one of our businesses.
That variety makes Talent Acquisition at Gibbons different.
You'll work closely with leaders across the organization, have the freedom to improve how we attract talent, and see the impact of your work throughout the business.
And because we're growing, this role has room to grow with us.
If you're looking for a recruitment role where you can own the outcome, build something better and help shape the teams behind some of Whistler's best-known experiences, we'd love to hear from you.
Come build great teams with us.
