Hynds group, is looking for a hands-on operations leader to take charge of our Christchurch Import Distribution Centre. Reporting to the National Warehouse Distribution Manager, you'll own the daily running of the site — keeping goods flowing in and out safely, accurately and on time, leading the team, and maintaining the service levels our customers rely on. You'll also be our Supply Chain presence across the South Island, supporting other DCs with stock and site management. Key Responsibilities:
Manage the daily operations of the Christchurch Import DC — inwards, outwards, inventory and freight
Lead, coach and develop the warehouse team, building a positive and accountable culture
Plan inbound and outbound activity, resourcing and rosters to keep the site running efficiently
Drive DIFOT, inventory accuracy and process improvement across the site
Champion health, safety and environmental standards across the warehouse and yard
Represent Supply Chain operations across the South Island and support other DCs as needed
Work closely with Supply Chain, Internal Sales, Transport, Vendor and Product Management teams
What You'll Bring:
Proven experience leading a warehouse or distribution operation and the team that runs it
Solid understanding of DC operations — inwards/outwards goods, inventory, freight and warehouse best practice
Strong planning skills and a sharp eye for detail that prevents re-work and errors
In depth knowledge of import processes and biosecurity requirments
Cool-headed problem solving and sound decision-making under pressure
Clear communication and the ability to build strong relationships across sites and stakeholders
A genuine commitment to health and safety and to doing what's right
