The Engineering Technician I provides industrial operations support including material staging, packaging, and movement within government shops. They also perform basic assembly, installation, and routine data entry tasks under close supervision.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of experience in industrial operations. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense security clearance.
The Engineering Technician I provides entry-level industrial operations support for production control, logistics, material movement, shop-order processing, and related technical activities. The position performs simple, routine assignments under close supervision or from detailed procedures, with work reviewed during performance or upon completion.
Responsibilities may include preparing and staging material, packaging hardware, moving components, assisting with repair kits, entering routine status information, and supporting the movement of work through Government shops. The technician may also perform basic assembly or installation tasks requiring simple wiring, soldering, connecting, or use of hand tools when specifically assigned and qualified.
