The Chief Mate assists the Tug Master in the safe operation of the tug and ensures compliance with all regulatory safety guidelines. They are also responsible for deck duties on LNG barges, including line handling, equipment maintenance, and following master orders.
Candidates must hold a Mate 500GT Near Coastal license, a valid TWIC, and a passport with no travel restrictions. A minimum of 540 days of experience on a towing vessel in a supervisory capacity is required.

Assists in safe operation of tug under supervision of the Tug Master, follows safety procedures and guidelines pertaining to regulatory guidelines. Also responsible for deck duties pertaining to LNG barge to include but not limited to, making fast, stowing lines, painting, chipping, greasing deck equipment and following orders of the master of the vessel.

Compensation: This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement. Compensation, including hourly wages or salary, benefits, and other terms of employment, will be in accordance with the applicable union contract.
