Job Description Summary
As a Materials Manager, you play a critical role in the smooth operations of GE HealthCare Ultrasound’s supply chain and production processes. Your strategic decisions directly impact the efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and overall success of the organization. By effectively managing materials procurement, planning, inventory, and fulfillment, you contribute to meeting production deadlines, maintaining quality standards, and ultimately satisfying customer demands. This role will help develop strategy for the long term vision of the site. In this position, you will have a significant degree of autonomy and be entrusted with making critical operational decisions that demand exceptional judgment and strategic insight.
Job Description
Roles Responsibilities
Manages the team that owns the master schedule production, owns all material processes and systems, prepares and updates production schedules and purchasing needs. Ensure operational alignment with production plan and site KPIs. Optimize inventory and drive process improvements.
Develop specialized knowledge in materials planning. Serves as best practice/quality resource. Has awareness of latest technical developments. Contributes towards site strategy and policy development and ensures delivery within area of responsibility.
Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own role integrates with others.
Uses judgment to make decisions or solve complex materials tasks or problems. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support materials and inventory recommendations. Uses internal and external sources to help with decision making process.
Acts as a site mentor for materials management. Will lead projects with moderate risks and resource requirements. Explains and coaches on difficult or sensitive information and works to build consensus as a subject expert. Expected to influence others cross functionally on topics within field, and toward improving local process and plans.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Technical or related discipline
Minimum 5 years of experience with demonstrated success in roles across supply chain, site, and manufacturing experience.
Demonstrated success managing projects
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Suite & ERP knowledge and experience
Extensive knowledge/experience with optimizing materials management procedures
Solid understanding of materials management, MRP, MPS and procurement
Experience managing a team and developing resource talent
Track record of driving improvements using a proactive approach to problem-solving

Expertise in leading and driving change across the organization

The pay range for this position is [$120,000.00 - $150,000.00 - $180,000.00]. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the pay range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including skills, qualifications, experience and location. In addition, this position may also be eligible to earn performance-based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long-term incentives (LTI).
