Assists surgeons with procedures for patients of all ages by preparing the sterile field and maintaining an accurate account of supplies. Coordinates with other disciplines to provide basic patient assistance and ensure safety protocols are followed during surgical interventions.
Requires graduation from a specialty training program and current CST certification or exemption under PA Act 80. A minimum of one year of related work experience is preferred.
Work is typically performed in a clinical environment. Accountable for satisfying all job specific obligations and complying with all organization policies and procedures. Full Time Position, Rotating start times 9am - 10am (12 hour shifts)
Every other working weekend required (7am - 7:30pm or 7pm -7:30am)
Rotation of on call weekdays and weekends
Rotation of holidays working and on call
(30 minute response time required for on call shifts)
Current certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) is required unless exempt under Pennsylvania Act 80 (Per PA Act 80, individuals who practiced as surgical technologists in a healthcare facility within two years prior to the law's implementation may qualify without current certification.)
