The Primary Care Medical Assistant manages patient flow, obtains clinical information, and assists providers during examinations and procedures. They are also responsible for accurate EMR documentation, administering vaccines, and coordinating care with the broader medical team.
Requires a high school diploma or GED and completion of a qualified training program such as EMT, CNA, or LNA. At least one year of medical assistant experience is required, with a preference for certification and bilingual skills in Spanish.
The Primary Care Medical Assistant provides care to patients in a clinic setting by managing patient flow through the clinic, obtaining pertinent clinical information including the patient's complaint, health history, and measurement of vital signs, preparing the patient for examination, assisting provider during the examination and follow up needs. assures accurate and timely documentation of care per company standards. The MA supports the care team in the overall coordination of the member's care by coordinating activities with primary care nurses, primary care team members and community resources.
