The Nursing Assistant works under the direction of a Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care and implement delegated nursing plan activities. They are responsible for demonstrating basic nursing skills and supporting the specific needs of the assigned clinical unit.
Candidates must possess a Washington Nursing Assistant Certification License and a National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association upon hire. The role requires the ability to function effectively within a clinical team environment.
The Nursing Assistant functions within his/her scope of practice under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse to assist in providing care and implementing delegated activities of the nursing plan. S/he demonstrates an understanding of basic nursing skills and skills unique to the assigned clinical unit(s).
