Overview:
The Child Behavior Specialist provides a safe and effective clinic-based therapeutical and learning environment for children in accordance with the philosophy and mission of Behaven Kids.
Responsibilities:
Provides a safe, structured learning environment.
Interacts with children in a professional, positive manner.
Implements Behaven Kids model of care and curriculum.
Implements treatment goals and objectives.
Prepares, updates and maintains documentation and children’s records.
Identifies and develops treatment goals and objectives.
Communicates treatment progress and concerns with parents, staff and supervisor.
Facilitates staffing including managing staff breaks, opening and closing.
Serves as a crisis intervention and bodily fluids/blood borne pathogen clean-up lead.
Assists with inventory management of clinic supplies and materials
Assists with the cross training of Child Behavioral Tech’s and Specialists.
Assists with monthly DHHS checklists
Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Requires a high school diploma. An associate’s degree in early childhood education or related field or 3 years experience in a preschool or daycare setting is preferred.
Must be nineteen years of age.
Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work in active environment and lift up to 50 lbs.

Behaven Kids is a provider of mental health services for children and adolescents with mental health-related issues.
Behaven Kids provides hope and help for young children who are struggling with problem behaviors in child care, school, or at home. We offer practical, research-based solutions to a wide range of behavior issues. Services include a unique Specialized Day Program for children ages 18 months to 8 years, individual and family counseling for all ages, workshops/training, child behavior coaching and award-winning books, including The Sleep Fairy and Mini Methods or Madness. Our goal is to assist and support parents and caregivers so that all children can be happy and successful at home, in school and in the community. Behaven Kids celebrated its 10-year anniversary in 2010. In our first decade, Behaven Kids made a difference in the lives of nearly 1,000 children and families.
