Nashville General Hospital is hiring for a Patient Access Team Lead (Central Scheduling) as a full time job in Nashville, Tennessee.
Shift: Day Shift
This position is responsible for day-to-day supervision of patient admissions, registration and associated activities including patient reception, pre-registration, insurance verification, registration, bed assignment and discharge, as well as performing primary job functions. Maintains a positive public relations image in all patient/visitor, medical staff and interdepartmental communications.
Patient Access Team Lead (Central Scheduling) Roles & Responsibilities:
Schedules/Pre-Registers procedures for OR, SDS, PAT, CLI and Ancillary services
Liaison between the OR and physician offices for scheduling procedures and ancillary services
Enters demographic and insurance information correctly and in a timely manner in both PHS and STAR
Willingly assists physicians as needed in an efficient manner.
Ensures all messages are verified and returned to the appropriate party within 24 hours.
Uses proper telephone and customer service etiquette when communicating with physicians, patients, visitors, internal and external customers Courteously receives, greets and directs patients, visitors and staff as needed.
Performs clerical duties in accordance with procedures of assigned department as outlined in Policy and Procedure Manual
Utilizes EasyLink to ensure orders are properly processed and filed in the correct folder for retrieval upon registration.
Serves as a leader in patient access and effectively represents the department in hospital relationships.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
High School diploma
Experience working in patient access or medical records.
Previous experience as a Team lead of Supervisor in an Admissions/Registration function
Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
Functional knowledge of personal computers and basic PC application programs including word processing and spreadsheets; database knowledge a plus.
