The Patient Care Technician provides basic direct and indirect care under the supervision of a nurse or physician. Key duties include documenting vital signs, assisting patients with daily living activities, and performing clerical tasks.
Candidates must be at least 18 years old (or 17 with a diploma) and have a CNA certification, nursing clinical rotations, or equivalent patient care experience. A current BLS certification from AHA, Red Cross, or Allina in-house training is required.
Under direct supervision of a Registered Nurse or Physician, the Patient Care Technician provides basic direct and indirect patient care. This includes taking and documenting vital signs, answering call lights, assisting patients with activities such as daily living and transfers and other clerical duties.
