The incumbent provides patient care within their scope of practice while adhering to medical center policies and procedures. They are also responsible for performing unit secretary duties to ensure the efficient operation of the medical unit.
Candidates must be at least 17 years old and hold a valid Nurse Aide I or II certification along with BCLS certification. Proficiency in basic computer applications and medical terminology is preferred.
Provides care within scope of practice and medical center policies and procedures, appropriate to the age of the patients served, incorporating knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life-span. Required to work and function competently and independently in both NA and Unit Secretary role in order to meet annual evaluation performance expectations.
Education and Credentials:
Required:
Nurse Aide I: Listed with the Nurse Aide Registry at the NC Division of Facility Services.
Nurse Aide II: Listed with the Nurse Aide Registry at the NC Division of Facility Services and the NC Board of Nursing.
Preferred:
Knowledge of medical terminology. Formal training in basic computer applications. Ability to type proficiently.

No previous experience required. Given training and on-the-job experience, incumbent should be proficient in basic aspects of job within three months of employment date.
