Perform accurate and timely microbiology laboratory testing on incoming samples while adhering to quality systems and safety regulations. Register samples in the eLIMS system and maintain detailed records of all work performed.
Requires a high school diploma and preferably an Associate or Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biology, or a related science field. Candidates should have experience in plating and sample preparation, along with strong interpersonal and analytical skills.
The Laboratory Technician I receives sufficient authority from, and is accountable to the Laboratory Supervisor or appointed designate for the successful completion of assigned duties and responsibilities and has the authority to take action necessary to carry out the duties and responsibilities of this position and to identify the occurrence of departures from the quality system or from the procedures for performing tests and/or calibrations, so long as such action does not deviate from established company guidelines, is consistent with sound technical and business judgment, and follows the practices of the laboratory.
Microbiology - Mid shift - Mon - Fri (noon - 8:30pm) or Tue - Fri (noon - 8:30 pm) + Sat (9am - 5:30pm)
To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill or ability required
HS Diploma required
AS or BS Degree in Microbiology, Food Sciences, Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry or a related field. Experience in plating, plate reading, and sample preparation.
