Join our team at the Robert Young Center as a Patient Scheduling Coordinator! This role manages complex patient scheduling, including multi-service appointments, diagnostic tests, and procedures, while ensuring timely access and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities include verifying insurance, obtaining prior authorizations, and maintaining accurate patient information in the EMR. The Patient Scheduling Coordinator also collaborates with clinic staff, supports junior team members, and helps improve scheduling processes.

Responsibilities
Manages complex patient scheduling and rescheduling across multiple providers, including appointments, procedures, diagnostic tests, surgeries, and hospital admissions, ensuring compliance with protocols and regulations.
Greets and checks in patients, assists with forms, and prioritizes scheduling needs to support timely access to care.
Coordinates multi-service appointments and phone communications to optimize patient access and scheduling efficiency.
Confirms insurance coverage, secures prior authorizations, and ensures patients are informed of financial and procedural requirements.
Updates and maintains accurate patient information in the EMR, including demographics, insurance, and scheduling data while ensuring compliance with HIPAA and organizational standards.
Supports clinic operations through record audits, process improvement initiatives, and mentorship of junior staff to enhance scheduling workflows and patient experience.
Qualifications
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Associate’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare, or other related field preferred.
Experience:
Three (3) years of customer service OR healthcare related experience required.
Three (3) years of experience working in medical front office position performing duties such as scheduling appointments, checking patients in/out, insurance verification, and maintaining medical records preferred.
