The respiratory therapist specializes in promoting optimum cardiopulmonary function by assessing, educating, and treating patients with cardiopulmonary deficiencies. They implement evidence-based care plans and participate in interdisciplinary care models to ensure best patient outcomes.
Candidates must hold an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from a CoARC-accredited program and be a Registered Respiratory Therapist. A current Ohio respiratory care license and AHA BLS certification are required, with potential requirements for PALS or NRP.
