Responsibilities include developing coaching plans, assisting with career goals, maintaining accurate records, and fostering business partnerships.
Requirements
Candidates must have a high school diploma, with an associate degree or higher preferred, and 1-4 years of experience working with individuals with disabilities. A valid Ohio driver's license and the ability to pass pre-employment screenings, including background checks and drug tests, are required.

Job Summary:
The Job Coach works under the supervision of the Program Manager and provides compassionate, person-centered support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This role focuses on helping individuals develop the skills, confidence, and independence needed to obtain and maintain meaningful community employment while promoting inclusion, dignity, and personal success. Previous experience working as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) or supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities is preferred.
Essential Functions:
Demonstrate the values and guiding principles of OhioGuidestone every day, performing with the highest standards of excellence, integrity and ethics.
Build collaborative relationships with clients to support employment goals in community settings.
Assist individuals improve their job skills and achieve career goals by developing coaching plans, assisting with goal setting, teaching effective job tasks, and supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Develop and support business partnerships and collaborations and advise how they can support the population with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Follow individual’s Individual Service Plan as guided by the SSA
Assist identified individuals with disabilities with career planning, resume writing and the ability to learn and accurately perform and excel in their job duties and functions.
Perform an assessment of professional strengths and weaknesses for each assigned individual.
Assist with development of Individual professional plans for growth within the current area of interest
Provide one-on-one training to prepare for employment tailored to the individual’s needs.
Performs related administrative responsibilities; maintains participant information, records, and other documents; responds timely to emails and phone calls; attends various training and meetings; completes required reporting; communicates with other agencies, departments, and vendors regarding required paperwork, contract compliance and consults with other county agencies and/or supportive services as necessary.
Create and update state records and reports on progress, utilizing an internal computer system.
Complete progress notes daily for the individuals you work with.
Assist with quality assurance and auditing when necessary
Educate clients on public benefits (e.g., SSI, Medicaid) and how employment may impact them
Be a part of a client team that includes the client, service support administrators, employer, family and other outside entities, so the client is supported through every process.
Participate in cross-training to develop working knowledge of multiple program functions, ensuring seamless service delivery, collaboration across departments, and the ability to support agency needs as they arise.
Participates in the planning, organization and implementation of special events/department specific projects including job fairs, community fairs, community service-learning projects and fundraising events.
Develops strong community support and collaborative partnerships. Maintain effective linkages with internal and external department staff, outside agency professionals, and other community organizations as it is related to data management.
Maintains the confidentiality of client or collateral interaction within Agency defined standards.
Exhibit positivity, flexibility and willingness to take on new responsibilities as requested or required.
Demonstrate positive leadership, promote a team-based work environment and a culture of belonging.
Present the Agency in the most positive light with all internal and external contacts.

Education & Experience:
Level I:
High school diploma required, associate degree or higher in Psychology, Social Work, Human Services, Education or a related field preferred.
1-2 years’ experience working with individual and developmental disabilities and/or a high-risk population
Trauma-informed care preferred
Level II:
Education is same as Level I
2-4 years’ experience working with individual and developmental disabilities and /or a high-risk population
Crisis intervention experience required
Demonstrated independence and initiative
Level III:
Education is same as Level II
2-4 years’ experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and/or a high-risk population
Crisis intervention training or experience required
Proven leadership demonstrated by taking on additional responsibilities
Participation in program operations and external meetings
Understanding of compliance as it pertains to the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities and Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities
Qualifications:

Ability to maintain relevant, timely documentation as required.
Effective computer literacy skills, including Windows applications, Microsoft Office Suite, electronic health records, etc.
Must be able to access work locations, offices, and homes as necessary, which may include ascending/descending stairs.
Ability to drive clients to employment locations
Possess a valid Ohio Driver’s License with a safe driving record and valid insurance.
Successfully complete pre-employment screenings, including drug tests, background checks, and any other required assessments, such as a physical examination and TB test.
