The Optical Technician is responsible for fitting and dispensing glasses and contact lenses based on medical prescriptions. They manage the total patient experience by combining medical support with retail sales to meet patient needs.
Requires a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of experience in customer or patient interaction. ABO and NCLE certifications and previous ophthalmic experience are strongly preferred.

SUMMARY
An Optical Technician will achieve a world class Total Patient Experience that maximizes retail sales while also supporting the patients’ medical needs. This team member is trained to dispense and fit glasses and contacts, working from the prescriptions written by Optometrists and Ophthalmologists. They connect the patient's needs to the goods and services offered.
