The pharmacy technician assists licensed pharmacists with dispensing functions, including purchasing, inventory control, and sterile product preparation. They also maintain automated dispensing equipment and provide pharmaceutical support for neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 3 years of pharmacy experience. A Registered Pharmacy Technician license or certification is required, along with accredited training in sterile products and IV admixture.

Job Summary:
The individual in this position acts under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist and provides assistance in dispensing functions, including: purchasing, inventory control of all drug classes, sterile product preparation and associated equipment maintenance, and automated dispensing cabinet equipment and inventory maintenance. Also performs technical duties to maintain pharmaceutical dispensing functions to all neonate, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, including inpatients and outpatients.

Children’s Hospital of Michigan is an international leader in pediatric and adolescent medicine. Surgical services include general, thoracic, reconstructive and cardiovascular. Imaging technology designed specifically for children provides advanced diagnostic services including Positron Emission Tomography (PET) and MRI. The Children’s Hospital of Michigan Emergency Department is a verified Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center and dedicated pediatric burn center. Experts in pediatric critical care, rehabilitation, and neonatal and perinatal medicine provide care for thousands of children every year at Children’s Hospital of Michigan, Children’s Hospital of Michigan - Troy and six ambulatory sites.
