The psychiatrist will conduct psychiatric evaluations, manage psychotropic medications, and develop individualized treatment plans for youth in a secure residential setting. They will also provide crisis intervention, participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, and offer clinical oversight to mid-level providers.
Candidates must hold an MD or DO degree, have completed an accredited Psychiatry Residency, and possess an active, unrestricted Michigan Medical License. Board Certification in Psychiatry is required, while Child & Adolescent Psychiatry certification is preferred.

LOCATION: Wayne County Juvenile Detention Facility - Detroit, MI 48211
POSITION SUMMARY: Southeastern Michigan Health Association (SEMHA) is seeking a Board-Certified Psychiatrist to provide psychiatric services for youth residing at the Wayne County Juvenile Detention Facility. This position offers a unique opportunity to positively influence the lives of adolescents facing significant behavioral health challenges while working in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
As a member of our behavioral health team, you will provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, crisis intervention, and treatment planning for youth in a secure residential setting focused on rehabilitation and recovery.
Salary: $170 - $200 hourly (based on experience & Qualifications)
Employment Type: Part-Time
Work Hours: 16 hrs. a week
Classification: Exempt (salaried)
