JOB SPECIFICS
The Neonatal Critical Care Unit (NCCU) is a 64-bed, private-room unit with a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, a Neonatal Intermediate Care Unit, and a Small Baby Unit.
Team consists of our full-time neonatologists, nurse practitioners, residents, APP and physician fellows, nurses, respiratory therapists, and consultants from multiple specialties deliver the most advanced care to premature and high-risk infants. Rounding approach is family centered. Isolation facilities available.
Management of premature and high-risk infants including bedside invasive and non-invasive monitoring, conventional and high-frequency ventilation, and surgery in multiple specialties, including cardiac and neurology.
Opportunity to perform procedures such as intubation, thoracentesis, PICC, arterial and umbilical lines as well as newborn resuscitation for all high-risk deliveries.
Additional opportunities to assist with transport of critical infants and to rotate to Level II nurseries in the OSF HealthCare System.
Shared governance opportunities available within the scope of Safety, Quality Improvement, Education, and Focused Unit Based and Hospital Wide Committees.
Robust Pediatric subspecialty support including for general cardio and neurosurgery teams.
12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Licensed to provide either advanced practice nursing services in the State of Illinois as issued by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation in accordance with the Illinois Nurse Practice Act OR physician assistant services as issued by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation in accordance with the Illinois Physician Assistant Practice Act of 1987.
Nurse Practitioners must hold a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner certification from the National Certification Corporation
Licensed by the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration and the State of Illinois to prescribe narcotics, if applicable.
BLS/ACLS Certified.
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required.
Prior experience as an Advanced Practice Nurse or Physician Assistant in a NCCU is required. We offer a 1-year Neonatal Critical Care Fellowship for new graduates and for experienced Physician Assistants with no prior NCCU experience.
Must be eligible as a provider for Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal health programs.
Provider shall meet all qualifications to participate in OSF's programs for professional malpractice and other liability coverage.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care aligned to the preferences, goals, and needs of the patients served.

Full-time, clinical base hourly pay range for this position: $64.61-$72.87. This position is paid hourly.
