Responsibilities

Provide advice and assistance to staff and contractors on environmental and sustainability management to ensure compliance with frameworks. Review and prepare comprehensive environmental assessment documentation to support major road infrastructure projects in southern NSW.

Requirements

Requires generalist environmental skills and experience with relevant legislation, ideally within infrastructure projects. Candidates should be enthusiastic team players with strong stakeholder engagement skills and experience supporting programs from an environmental perspective.

You’re someone who wants to create outcomes that have a real impact on the people of NSW.

You're looking to contribute to the transformation of the transport sector towards a greener and more sustainable future. You want to actively participate in shaping policies and initiatives that reduce carbon emissions, promote renewable energy adoption, and enhance the overall environmental performance of the transport network.

 

 

In this role, you'll:

 

Work as part of a team providing advice and assistance to Transport staff and contractors on a range of environmental and sustainability management, planning and assessment requirements to support compliance with environmental and sustainability frameworks, achieve required outcomes, and meet the expectations of the community of NSW. The role works as part of an embedded team to support major road infrastructure projects.

This role will see you review and prepare comprehensive environmental assessment documentation to support the assessment of environmental impacts, work as part of an embedded team to promote consistent application of environmental legislation, provide advice, assist in the identification of risks and influence the implementation of best practice environmental and sustainability standards and practices to gain effective outcomes.

Please note this role is based in Wollongong and the projects you will be involved with are in the southern region of NSW.

About you

 

Your generalist environment skills, including knowledge and experience of relevant environment legislation formed across projects, ideally infrastructure will see you excel in this role providing comprehensive assessments and assisting in the identification of environmental and sustainability risks and issues.  You're recognised as an enthusiastic team player, skilled at stakeholder engagement, experienced in supporting projects or programs of work from an environmental perspective.
