The Assistant Sign Technician plans and directs activities within the sign department to provide traffic management services. This includes the installation and maintenance of signs and traffic markings under the supervision of the Street & Drainage Superintendent.
Requires a high school diploma and at least three years of experience in traffic markings and sign installation. A valid Texas Class 'A' Commercial driver's license is mandatory.
JOB SUMMARY
The Assistant Sign Technician performs several job functions under the supervision of the Street & Drainage Superintendent. This position plans, coordinates and directs activities within the sign department to provide Traffic Management Services.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of three years of experience in traffic markings, sign installation and maintenance.
Special Requirements:
Must possess a valid Texas Class "A" Commercial driver's license.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The work is heavy and requires the ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required: balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, fingering, grasping, feeling, handling, hearing, kneeling, lifting, mental acuity, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motions, speaking, standing, stooping, talking, visual acuity and walking.
