The Group Sales Manager is responsible for soliciting new business, negotiating contracts, and managing client accounts for sleeping rooms and meeting spaces. They act as a liaison between clients and operations teams to ensure the successful execution of banquet events and group stays.
Candidates must have at least one year of sales experience in the hospitality industry and one year of food and beverage experience. A Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience is required, along with the ability to work a flexible schedule.
Primary Functions include:
Respond to sales inquiries from potential clients seeking sleeping rooms, meeting space, and/or food and beverage services
Initiate new sales, prospects and qualifies leads, and solicits potential clients
Negotiates rates, prepares proposals, negotiates contracts, and services accounts
Creates Banquet Event Orders and group resumes, and communicates clients' needs to the operations teams
Hosts and entertains clients as necessary
Maintains existing and new client accounts
Conducts property site visits
Works as the liaison between the client and operations teams to ensures successful client events
Qualifications include:
A minimum of 1 year sales experience in the hospitality field required
Previous food and beverage experience (1 year) required
A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
The ability to work a flexible schedule including evening, weekends and holidays, as needed
