The Finance & Operations Specialist supports daily financial operations and building analytical tools that guide leadership’s decisions. This role works closely with the CFO and Finance Director to manage the distinct financial transactions of the Scholarship Granting Organization (SGO), assist with dashboard creation and variance reporting, and provide crucial support to organizational financial operations.
Reports to: Chief Financial Officer
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm
Compensation: Full-time, Salaried/Exempt
Location: CCV Office in Columbus, Ohio, with Occasional Statewide Travel

Manage and track all financial transactions specifically related to the organization's Scholarship Granting Organization (SGO).
Collaborate with Christian Education Network (CEN) staff to prepare scholarships for distribution, and assist with troubleshooting donation and distribution issues.
Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations governing SGO funds, including accurate donor receipting and scholarship disbursement tracking.
Financial Reporting & Dashboarding
Build, update, and manage dynamic financial reporting and analysis tools for use by the CFO and executive leadership.
Design and monitor financial dashboards to track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), budget vs. actuals, and cash flow trends.
Prepare preliminary variance analyses and data visualizations to support the CFO's monthly budget review meetings with department leaders.
Financial Operations
Collaborate with the Finance Director to ensure continuous, full-cycle Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) coverage throughout the week.
Assisting the Finance Director with credit card reconciliations, including reviewing and posting transactions as necessary.
Provide coverage and support for managing weekly bank deposits, ensuring organized records and timely reports.
Assist with gathering documentation for annual internal and external audits.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications & Requirements
Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
3-5 years of professional experience in finance, accounting, bookkeeping, or data analysis. Experience in a non-profit setting is a plus.
Exceptional organizational skills with a meticulous eye for detail, ensuring zero-defect data entry and reporting.
Familiarity with spreadsheets and AI tools and their application in streamlining administrative or financial workflows.
Experience with QuickBooks (or similar) and a baseline understanding of non-profit GAAP preferred.
Character and Spiritual
Mature Christian, currently attending or pursuing attendance in a local church.

Ability to work discreetly with confidential information.
