The General Maintenance Worker (GMW) - HVAC will provide HVAC maintenance support. This position involves performing maintenance and repairs on various types of equipment related to air conditioning, dehumidification, refrigeration, ventilation, and heating systems within critically controlled environmental installations.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED
1-2 years’ experience as a licensed Journeyman HVAC mechanic.
Knowledge of electrical and mechanical operation and maintenance of power generation equipment is required.
SKILLS/ABILITIES
Basic computer skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
ESSENTIONAL FUNCTIONS
Provides general maintenance support for heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and dehumidification systems within critically controlled environmental installations.
Performs routine and preventive maintenance on HVAC systems and associated equipment in accordance with established maintenance schedules, procedures, and manufacturer recommendations.
Performs routine lubrication, including greasing and oiling of pumps, motors, and associated equipment.
Inspects and cleans HVAC units, coils, and related components to support proper operation and equipment performance.
Inspects drive belts for wear, damage, and proper operation and replaces belts as needed.
Transfers, replaces, and properly disposes of various types of HVAC filter media throughout the installation in accordance with applicable procedures and requirements.
Assists with troubleshooting, maintenance, and minor repairs of HVAC equipment, including air-handling units, ventilation systems, heating and cooling equipment, and related components.
Inspects HVAC equipment and systems to identify worn, damaged, or malfunctioning components and reports conditions requiring additional repair or specialized technical support.
Performs general HVAC maintenance tasks, including cleaning equipment and components and maintaining equipment and mechanical spaces.
Uses hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and other maintenance equipment necessary to perform assigned duties safely and effectively.
Responds to service requests and work orders and performs assigned maintenance activities in accordance with established priorities and operational requirements.
Assists HVAC mechanics and other skilled trades personnel with more complex maintenance, repair, installation, and troubleshooting activities as directed.
Maintains accurate records of inspections, preventive maintenance, repairs, materials used, and completed work orders.
Identifies and reports equipment deficiencies, safety concerns, and conditions that could affect system reliability or facility operations.
Follows applicable safety procedures, environmental requirements, technical guidance, and site-specific policies when performing maintenance activities.
Maintains tools, equipment, work areas, and mechanical spaces in a clean, safe, and serviceable condition.
Performs other general maintenance duties within the scope of the position as assigned to support facility operations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling up to 50 pounds.
High noise levels are common with general maintenance.
Must have the ability to maintain assigned work hours.
Must have sufficient endurance to perform tasks over long periods of time.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This role requires work in non-office settings such as machinery rooms, electrical distribution centers, server rooms, and industrial locations.
Work requires exposure to heat/cold, noise, dust, mist, and/or fumes.
Required the ability to climb ladders and work at heights.
Requires wearing personal protective equipment such, safety glasses, fall protection harness, protective-toe footwear, gloves, hard hat, and hearing protection.
Work hazards include electrical shock, confined spaces, and noise hazards.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Must possess a valid driver’s license
Must be able to obtain a favorable National Agency Check (NAC) per contract.
Must complete all mandated training requirements per government and management directives.
Must be proficient with the English Language per contract.
