The Opportunity Are you an experienced design professional who enjoys bringing people, processes, and projects together? SBM is looking for a Design Coordination Lead (DCL) to take ownership of our Design Coordination function and play an important role in supporting the delivery of Mechanical and Electrical projects. The Design Coordination function supports our Mechanical and Electrical Engineering teams across the design, drafting, coordination, and administrative aspects of project delivery. As the DCL, you will coordinate the day-to-day workflow of the Design Coordination team, assign and prioritize tasks, review deliverables, support project deadlines, and ensure consistent quality across drawing sets and construction documentation. You’ll also be an important resource for staff working through the Design Coordinator role, helping new team members understand SBM’s processes, drafting standards, drawing requirements, and expectations. This role is well suited to someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, technically capable, and enjoys creating structure and consistency within a busy project environment. If you’re someone who notices the details, enjoys solving problems, and takes pride in making processes work better, we’d like to meet you.
About SBM Join the dynamic team at SBM, a leading multidisciplinary engineering firm known for our innovative and collaborative approach to building solutions. What You'll Do Design Coordination
Take ownership of the Design Coordination function and its day-to-day workflow.
Assign and prioritize Design Coordination tasks based on project requirements, deadlines, and team capacity.
Coordinate with Mechanical and Electrical Engineering teams to support the production, maintenance, coordination, and finalization of drawing sets and construction documentation.
Review Design Coordination deliverables to ensure they meet SBM’s established quality, drafting, and presentation standards.
Monitor deadlines and coordinate priorities to ensure Design Coordination deliverables are completed on time.
Participate in internal project and team meetings to provide input on deadlines, capacity, drafting quality, and coordination processes.

Provide timely feedback regarding drafting quality, standards, and process issues to the appropriate Team Leads.
Support transitional discussions with new leaders regarding an employee’s progress, development areas, and readiness to transition from the Design Coordinator role.
Standards, Documentation & Processes
Maintain and continuously improve SBM’s drafting standards and drawing presentation requirements.
Maintain detailed manuals, guides, checklists, and other resources used for onboarding and ongoing reference.
Ensure Design Coordination procedures and documentation remain current, clear, and accessible.
