The Buyer II manages procurement activities of materials for natural-gas engine and generator production and service with greater autonomy, including negotiating supplier terms, proactively reducing cost and lead-time risks and resolving issues. This role balances tactical execution with analytical decision-making to support operational efficiency.
Manage end-to-end purchasing for assigned commodities or suppliers.
Analyze MRP signals and adjust purchasing strategies accordingly.
Negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms (delivery/payment) within defined limits.
Proactively mitigate supply risks and resolve delivery or quality issues.
Develop and maintain supplier relationships, monitor performance and support corrective actions.
Collaborate with Planning, Operations, and Engineering on part changes, cost/lead-time impacts, and supplier qualifications.
Support cost savings and continuous improvement initiatives.
Maintain accurate forecasting and communicate supply risks.
All other duties assigned.
QualificationsEducation
Required
4 Year / Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain, Business or related field from an accredited university.
Experience
Required
5 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain or technical field in an industrial / manufacturing environment.
3 years of experience managing suppliers and purchase orders independently.
3 years of exposure to MRP/ERP systems in a lean manufacturing or operations environment
Preferred
7 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain or technical field in an industrial / manufacturing environment.
Experience with cost analysis or basic negotiations.
Honorably discharged service veterans are preferred.
Certifications, Licenses & Registrations

Working knowledge of procurement, supply chain, and inventory management.
Understanding of supplier performance metrics and cost drivers.
