The Senior Structural Engineer will manage dam and reservoir projects, including performing engineering analysis, conducting site inspections, and overseeing design and construction. They are also responsible for preparing proposals, managing project schedules, and mentoring junior staff.
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in structural, civil, or mechanical engineering and possess at least 15 years of experience. A Professional Engineer (PE) license in at least one U.S. state is required, along with strong technical writing and communication skills.
GFT is seeking a Senior Hydraulic Structures Engineer to join our Dams and Hydraulics team in Denver, CO or Phoenix, AZ! This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at the office.

What you’ll be challenged to do:
This is an excellent career opportunity for someone who is driven, motivated, and passionate about engineering analysis, design, and computer modeling, as well as mentoring junior engineers in these areas. You will visit projects to review site conditions for inspections and construction/design oversight, perform and review engineering analysis, guide design methods, and provide technical assistance to staff and clients for a wide variety of dam and reservoir projects. You will also help the group with client management responsibilities.
