The Associate Executive Director is primarily responsible for supervising the daily operations and organizational leadership for the branch. The position is key in for the successful achievement of association and branch strategic goals. This position will play a key role in delivering intentional programming with a major focus on high member engagement initiatives, facilitating staff development and annual campaign. Participates in volunteer and staff development, financial development, and community relations/events.
SALARY RANGE: $100,000.00 - $110,000.00/year
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:
Recruits, hires, coaches Healthy Living staff, Program Directors, and other indirect staff on a regular basis. Develops strategies to retain staff through coaching and/or providing leadership opportunities within the Y. Provides training programs for new and current personnel and carries primary responsibility for all departmental staff development.
Lead member involvement and relationship building strategies to increase participation, enrollment, and volunteerism.
Provide and grow high quality, innovative programming which meets the needs of our members and the community and attracts donors.
Actively assist with the annual campaign; programming, administrative tasks, recruiting volunteers, etc.
Assists Program Directors and Coordinators in developing and controlling branch budgets and is responsible for maintaining budget goals. Recommends adjustments to the budget to meet or exceed targets.
Participates in activities of those committees developing and implementing policy in the area of program, property, marketing and member service.
Interprets and communicates the objectives and programs of the branch to the community.
Develops, maintains and prepares reports for staff, committees and the Branch Board.
Coordinates strategies for member engagement and retention with all Departments.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work involves walking, talking, hearing, using hands to handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls, and reaching with hands and arms. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
The employee may be required to push, pull, lift, and/or carry up to 30 pounds.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately quiet.
Qualifications
5 years' leadership experience.
Strong organization, planning, and follow through skills. Includes managing projects and deadlines.
Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal. Bilingual a plus.
Demonstrated expertise as a strategic leader with excellent problem-solving skills and proven ability to influence change.
Experience facilitating meetings and presenting to a group.
Requires solid skills with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Judgment and reasoning ability to analyze and solve complex problems, satisfying compliance/policy, service, and efficiency requirements. Must make sound independent decisions based on applicable laws, policies/procedures, and risk management.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and take initiative on projects.
