Full job description
The Insights Family is the world's largest continuous, independent data on the family economy. Since 2017 we have tracked what kids, young people and parents think, feel, watch, play and buy across 22 markets and five generations, surveying around 800,000 people every year. No one else understands the family audience at this scale, or for this long. The brands shaping childhood come to us to replace assumption with evidence. We serve a global client base of the world's leading media, entertainment, toy, licensing, advertising and consumer brands from our offices in Manchester, London and New York, helping the people who influence $1 trillion of family spend make their biggest decisions with confidence. Our next chapter is about scale: deepening our footprint across EMEA and accelerating growth in the US as the priorities for our next phase of global expansion. We exist because the family economy is one of the largest, fastest-moving and most misunderstood markets in the world, and the people closest to the truth, kids and families, are the ones least often asked. The kid sets the agenda; the parent makes it real. Our job is to put that real voice into the rooms where multi-million-pound decisions get made. Our purpose is to inspire organisations to put kids, teens, parents, and families at the heart of everything they do. We strive to disrupt positively, we collaborate to innovate, and we make the impossible possible. If you want to help define a category rather than follow one, this is the place to do it.
As a growing business, ensuring we are all committed to our core values is vital to creating the culture we all want to work within and establishes the foundations for high performance and growth. The core values we crafted as a team: • Accountable: Embracing ownership across all aspects of our business, including actions, decisions, and outcomes, and willingly taking responsibility for the results we achieve. • Inquisitive: Having a strong desire to learn, explore, and ask questions, and being curious about finding new solutions and opportunities. • Collaborative: Working together as a team, fostering a cooperative environment, and leveraging collective expertise to achieve shared goals. • Data-Driven: Relying on evidence, analytics, and insights to guide decision-making and drive our strategies. • Supportive: Providing assistance, encouragement, and resources to team members, customers, and partners, fostering a supportive and nurturing environment. • Empowered: Encouraging individuals to take ownership of their work, providing them with the autonomy and resources needed to make impactful decisions and drive innovation. • Customer-First: Putting customers' needs and satisfaction at the forefront of business decisions and strategies, prioritising their success and providing exceptional experiences and value.
Senior buyers in the world's biggest brands are drowning in outreach, and automated, high-volume AI has only made the noise worse. This role does the opposite. We use AI too, but to sharpen focused, creative work, not to spray more generic messages. The Growth & Engagement Manager wins a small number of high-value relationships across a focused set of target accounts by proving value and earning genuine attention, through workshops, dinners, roundtables, webinars and smart direct mail, and turns that engagement into qualified pipeline. This is a new-business role: your job is to open doors at organisations we do not yet work with and turn cold, high-value prospects into qualified opportunities. It is deliberately creative and high-touch, not high-volume, and it is not purely marketing: you carry a target, you create and qualify opportunities, and you are measured on new-business pipeline. Your remit spans five areas:
Portfolio Strategy & Planning • Work with the VP Marketing, VP Sales and CEO to design and shape the engagement strategy, target account list and priorities, bringing your own ideas while drawing on their experience and support. • Build and own the engagement plan for your portfolio of named target accounts (new-business prospects) across our priority segments, sectors and territories, including stakeholder mapping and account-level milestones. • Prioritise where to invest creative effort based on account potential and intent, not on volume of activity. • Work with our Insights and Content teams to turn TIF data into account-relevant hooks that open doors. Creative Engagement Campaigns • Design and run creative plays that genuinely earn the attention of senior buyers: curated dinners, executive roundtables, private workshops, tailored direct mail and value-led webinar invitations. • Get target stakeholders into the room and engaging with our content, then learn what works and do more of it. • Continuously experiment with new engagement tactics and channels, retiring what does not convert. Opportunity Creation & Pipeline • Convert engagement into qualified new-business opportunities, carrying and delivering against a pipeline target. • Create, qualify and progress opportunities in partnership with Sales, owning clean, warm hand-overs. • Build a healthy, predictable flow of new-logo opportunities, including re-engaging prospects that have previously gone cold or stalled. Relationship & Sales Partnership • Build and maintain genuine relationships with senior stakeholders across the portfolio. • Represent TIF at industry events, dinners and networking opportunities to drive engagement and brand presence. • Work closely with our Sales and New Business team so engagement converts into qualified opportunities and revenue. Measurement & Improvement • Track every engagement and outcome in the CRM through the engagement points system, ensuring activity is visible, attributable and repeatable. • Help develop and refine a repeatable playbook as the function grows, with the support of senior leadership, and help raise the standard of how we engage senior buyers.
What Success Looks Like • By 90 days: Your portfolio is mapped and prioritised, your first two engagement plays are live, and tracking is set up so every touch is visible. • By 6 months: You have a steady rhythm of high-intent engagements (meetings held, workshops and dinners delivered) and a growing flow of accepted opportunities from your accounts. • By 12 months: You have a tested, documented approach you have helped build, a clear track record of new-business pipeline created, and firm foundations for the function to grow.
• Creative and resourceful: you would rather earn one meeting with a clever play than send 500 emails. • Commercially sharp with a genuine appetite to sell, comfortable carrying a target and creating opportunities. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, confident with senior stakeholders in writing, on calls and in the room. • Strong problem-solving skills, able to think on your feet and find innovative ways to engage hard-to-reach buyers. • Exceptional organisational and time-management skills, able to run multiple campaigns and a portfolio while managing competing priorities. • Self-motivated and proactive, able to work both independently and collaboratively. • Able to quickly get to grips with a data product and articulate its value to senior, non-technical buyers. • 2+ years in demand generation, field/event marketing, ABM, partnerships or a creative SDR/BDR role; we care more about how you think than your exact job title.
Bonus Points • Comfortable using data and insight as a creative hook rather than a spec sheet. • A track record running events, dinners or field programmes that generated real pipeline. • Experience in media, entertainment, licensing, FMCG, advertising, agencies or market research. • Familiarity with a modern CRM and engagement or intent tooling.
Why This Role, And Where It Goes This is an early, founding role in a new, engagement-led growth function at TIF. You will not be handed a finished playbook: there is real scope to shape it, personalise your approach and test new ideas, working closely with our VP Marketing, CEO and VP Sales, who are directly invested in making this model succeed. It is a genuine stretch role with plenty of room to grow into. You will have the support to experiment and the backing of the largest dataset in the family economy to open doors most people cannot. As the approach proves out, there is a clear path to expand it into a small team, and to grow with it. If you want visible impact, real ownership of how we engage, and a category-defining business behind you, this is a rare seat.
