You will own the entire process from client request to executable proposal, including designing study models, building budgets, and defining timelines. You are responsible for pressure-testing plans with internal departments and ensuring clear communication of study requirements to both clients and internal teams.
The ideal candidate is comfortable with ambiguous problems, possesses strong analytical skills for both words and numbers, and has experience in clinical operations or project-based business. You must be able to build complex models in Excel and effectively challenge assumptions to create actionable study plans.

That is the job.
RDI designs and runs diagnostic clinical studies. Many of the opportunities we receive are not neatly packaged RFQs. The requirements can be incomplete, assumptions can conflict, and the obvious study design is not always the best one.
We need someone to own the path from client request to executable proposal.
This is not proposal coordination. It is not formatting documents or collecting inputs from other departments.
You are expected to understand the study, find what is missing, work out how it should operate, build the economics, and move it forward.
The WorkYou will:
You like ambiguous problems.
You are comfortable with both words and numbers. You can build a model in Excel, understand a clinical workflow, and explain the answer in plain English.
You may come from CRO proposals, clinical operations, project management, diagnostics, research sites, consulting, or another project-based business.
IVD experience is a major advantage. Curiosity and judgment matter more.
The strongest candidate is likely someone who has repeatedly found themselves doing more than their formal job: fixing scopes, rebuilding budgets, challenging assumptions, or turning somebody else's vague idea into an actual plan.
What We Are Not Looking ForIf your instinct when information is incomplete is “I cannot proceed,” this role will be miserable.

You will work directly with the people running the studies and with senior leadership. You will see which assumptions were right, which were wrong, and what happened after the client signed.
Very few proposal roles give you that feedback loop.
Your work becomes real clinical studies.
This role is in person at our Los Angeles / Van Nuys office, five days a week. Relocation assistance is available.

RDI is a tech-enabled CRO, Biobank, and Lab that helps In Vitro Diagnostic manufacturers who struggle to get FDA clearance for their products by sourcing the blood samples they desperately need through physicians and labs. Unlike many other CROs and bio-sample vendors, RDI is vertically integrated and can source, test, and send the finalized report to the FDA faster and more efficiently through its custom remote trial management software and its wholly owned clinical lab. This vertical integration allows RDI to vastly simplify the clinical trial process while serving as a credible, unbiased and independent source for the FDA submission. In 2021, RDI was recapitalized as part of an ongoing search-fund investment model, where a young entrepreneur acquires a small business from a retiring founder. This investment transitioned RDI from a founder led business into a world-class diagnostic CRO with scientific experts and a CLIA lab that allow it to manage larger and more complex projects.
