Job Description:

Job Title: Application Engineer – Personal Auto

Job Summary:
The Application Engineer – Personal Auto is responsible for supporting the development, evaluation, and implementation of products and solutions for personal automotive applications. This role works closely with cross-functional teams including sales, marketing, R&D, product development, and customers to ensure product performance, application suitability, and successful commercialization. The position requires strong technical knowledge, customer focus, and the ability to translate market needs into practical application solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide technical support for products and applications related to the personal automotive segment.
• Work closely with customers to understand application requirements and recommend suitable product solutions.
• Conduct product evaluations, testing, validation, and performance analysis for automotive applications.
• Collaborate with R&D and product development teams to optimize products based on customer and market needs.
• Support new product introductions, trials, and commercialization activities.
• Troubleshoot application issues and provide timely technical resolutions.
• Prepare technical documentation, reports, presentations, and application guidelines.
• Partner with sales and marketing teams to support customer engagement and business growth.
• Monitor industry trends, competitive products, and emerging customer requirements in the personal automotive market.
• Ensure compliance with relevant quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
• Conduct training for our applicators, convertors etc.
• Create application demos for our product portfolio to demonstrate the value proposition of our products and influence adoption of our products and solutions.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Relevant experience in application engineering, technical service, product development, or automotive-related industries.
• Strong technical problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Effective communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional and customer-facing environments.
• Experience in product testing, validation, and technical documentation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in personal automotive applications, materials, films, adhesives, coatings, or related product technologies.
• Familiarity with automotive market requirements, specifications, and customer expectations.
• Experience working directly with OEMs, converters, or automotive component manufacturers.
• Project management experience is an advantage.
