We’re looking for someone who know how to build real relationships, communicate clearly, and keep stakeholders informed and supported throughout project delivery.
This role sits at the heart of our Canterbury operations. You’ll be the link between our project teams and the people affected by our work – making sure communities, property owners, councils and clients are kept informed, listened to, and supported throughout.
If you’re someone who can juggle multiple priorities, handle tricky conversations with confidence, and genuinely cares about customer experience, this could be a great fit.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver stakeholder engagement and communication plans
Be the trusted point of contract for stakeholders, ensuring clear, consistent communication
Build strong, lasting relationships with councils, clients, and community groups
Partner closely with delivery teams to minimise disruption and embed stakeholder considerations into planning
Manager condition surveys, reinstatement activities, and property related matters end to end
Anticipate risks, resolve issues early, and keep projects moving forward
Protect project outcomes while maintaining positive community relationships
Contribute to a shared 24/7 contact line (on rotation)
Be available for occasional after-hours work and travel as required
Provide stakeholder and client feedback to delivery teams to support continuous improvement
Assist with capture planning and tender development to support future opportunities
Identify and lead community engagement initiatives that strengthen local connections
Nga pūkenga matua | Important Skills
You’re someone who enjoys working with people and knows how to build trust quickly. You’re calm under pressure, solution focused, and comfortable managing competing demands without losing sight of the bigger picture.
You’ll also bring:
Experience in stakeholder engagement, communications, or community liaison
Strong interpersonal skills – able to build trust and handle difficult conversations
Clear, confident written and verbal communication
Ability to manage multiple priorities and competing demands
Experience in infrastructure, construction, transport or similar environments
