Digital Engineering Lead, Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington or Christchurch

We’re looking for a Digital Engineering Lead – Water to drive how we deliver water projects across Aotearoa. This is a pivotal role combining hands-on project delivery with national influence—shaping tools, standards, and ways of working to lift consistency, quality, and efficiency across our teams.

You’ll play a key role in advancing our digital delivery capability, leading the adoption of best practice modelling, BIM, and digital engineering tools while supporting project teams to deliver high-quality outcomes for our clients.

About you:

  • Extensive experience in digital engineering within infrastructure or water, including strong expertise in Civil 3D and/or Plant 3D and BIM

  • Proven ability to lead and embed digital delivery standards, workflows, and quality practices across teams

  • A hands-on approach, with the ability to contribute directly to project delivery while coaching others

  • Experience supporting or leading digital transformation initiatives within engineering environments

  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence at both project and leadership level

  • A passion for innovation and continuous improvement in digital delivery

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering (preferred) or equivalent industry experience

What you’ll do:

  • Lead and support digital delivery across water projects, contributing to modelling, design, and technical outputs

  • Establish and embed consistent modelling standards, workflows, and quality frameworks

  • Act as a technical advisor to the Water Leadership Team on digital engineering practices

  • Drive improvements in tools, systems, and processes to enhance efficiency and delivery outcomes

  • Coach and uplift capability within project teams across the country

  • Support the adoption and implementation of BIM and ISO 19650-aligned practices

  • Contribute to strategic direction for digital engineering within the water sector

  • Enhance client outcomes through high-quality, reliable digital delivery
