Principal Accountabilities
Cutting, trimming and preparing precise products in accordance with client specifications using knives and equipment
Slaughter livestock (skin, split, clean and trim) using knives and equipment
Working with specialized knives and equipment in accordance with workplace health and safety requirement as well as safe food handling practices
Maintaining knife sharpness according to company standards
Ability to work in temperature controlled environments (Warm <30 Celsius or Cold 0-4 Celsius)
Weight handling up to 50lbs with or without a reasonable accommodation
Comfortable working with raw meat; Beef
Responsible for high standards of sanitation and personal cleanliness
Ability to understand and follow instructions with high attention to detail in completing tasks
Performing other duties as required or assigned by supervisor
Required Qualifications
Must be 18 years or older
Must be currently legal to work in Canada
Minimum of 12 months experience utilizing a knife or cutting equipment in a meat retail or wholesale environment
Preferred Qualifications
Familiar with food industry regulations, requirements and processes
Previous experience working with meat in a retail or wholesale environment
Knowledge in Butcher or Meat Cutting process
