The Trade Overseer will manage a prison-based fabrication workshop, providing hands-on instruction and mentoring to inmates in welding and fabrication skills. Candidates must hold a Certificate III in Metal Fabrication, Boilermaking, Welding, or a related trade, along with extensive post-trade industry experience. Experienced Metal Fabricators, Boilermakers and Welders are wanted to lead, mentor and inspire the next generation of skilled workers. As a Trade Overseer (Metal Fabrication) with Corrective Services NSW, you'll lead a prison-based fabrication workshop, mentoring inmates in practical fabrication, welding and workshop skills that improve employment opportunities and help reduce reoffending.
This hands-on role combines workshop management with coaching, ensuring safe, high-quality operations while fostering teamwork, accountability and respect. You'll also deliver workplace training, support nationally recognised traineeships and contribute to work readiness programs that equip individuals with valuable skills for life beyond custody.
