Location: Macquarie Correctional Centre, Wellington NSW
Employment type: 2ongoing, Full Time 5 Days, Monday to Friday Salary: $97,285 pa + Incidental Allowance + Leave Loading + Superannuation
Experienced Metal Fabricators, Boilermakers and Weldersare wanted to lead, mentor and inspire the next generation of skilled workers. As a Trade Overseer (Metal Fabrication) with Corrective Services NSW, you'll lead a prison-based fabrication workshop, mentoring inmates in practical fabrication, welding and workshop skills that improve employment opportunities and help reduce reoffending.
This hands-on role combines workshop management with coaching, ensuring safe, high-quality operations while fostering teamwork, accountability and respect. You'll also deliver workplace training, support nationally recognised traineeships and contribute to work readiness programs that equip individuals with valuable skills for life beyond custody.
What you’ll bring:
We're looking for experienced tradespeople who are ready to take the next step in their career and enjoy sharing their knowledge with others.
You'll have:
A Certificate III (or equivalent) in Metal Fabrication, Boiler making, Welding or a related fabrication trade
Extensive post-trade industry experience within fabrication or manufacturing
Strong practical knowledge of workshop operations and safe work practices
The ability to lead, coach and mentor others while maintaining high standards of workmanship
Confidence to work independently, make sound decisions and manage competing priorities
A current NSW Driver Licence and the willingness to drive as part of your duties
Flexibility to support a range of workshop activities as operational needs require
Experience which demonstrates the ability to meet the key accountabilities and focus capabilities of the role
