Provide expert advice on environmental regulations, standards, and emerging issues to support timely and cost-effective project delivery.
Oversee environmental consultants, including procurement, contract administration, project scheduling, budget management, and deliverables.
Review technical submissions and ensure project requirements meet regulatory and departmental standards.
Build and maintain effective relationships with regulators, Indigenous communities, government partners, municipalities, and other stakeholders through comprehensive consultation and engagement efforts.
Negotiate and coordinate with regulatory agencies to secure approvals and resolve complex environmental issues.
Manage the Alberta Wildlife Watch Program an animal-vehicle collision safety program.

Qualifications
Required:
University degree in a related field (i.e., Biology, Agrology, Forestry) plus six (6) years of progressively responsible related experience; or equivalent as described below.
Professional Biologist (P.Biol.) accreditation with the Alberta Society of Professional Biologists. Professional Agrologist (P.Ag.) with the Alberta Institute of Agrologists.
Registered Professional Forester (RPF) with the Association of Alberta Forest Management Professionals.
Class 5 drivers license or Canadian equivalent.

Equivalency:
Directly related education or experience may be considered on the basis of:
1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
1 year of experience for 1 year of education.
Assets:
Experience with environmental assessment of projects is required. Thorough understanding of federal and provincial legislation with a general understanding of municipal bylaws in order to efficiently navigate projects through complex regulatory requirements.
Experience with animal-vehicle collision mitigation and wildlife connectivity.
Six years of directly related experience such as the navigation of environmental regulatory processes for project delivery.
Term of Employment: Permanent, Full-time position.
Hours of Work: 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Location: Edmonton.
