About the Role
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Safety Insights, the role is responsible for providing analysis and expertise to support an evidence-based analytical approach to policy and decision making. Responding to information requests, you will manage the development and continual innovation of a robust platform of data analytics to support the conversion of multifaceted data streams into key concepts and actionable insights for key stakeholders.
The position is responsible for providing visually engaging reports distilling key insights from data and information collected from industry and other sources. Providing expert and strategic advice for the management, input, reporting and analysis of safety data to ST Vic, as well as participating in the tasks of data analysis and reporting, this position supports key planning, research, analysis, project monitoring and decision-making processes across ST Vic.
Experience Required
Demonstrated experience working in advanced data analytics, including the collection, management, analysis and interpretation of large, complex qualitative and quantitative datasets to generate actionable insights that support strategic decision-making. Experience with statistical methods and analytics tools such as Power BI, SQL, data modelling and data engineering is desirable and would be highly regarded, particularly in developing dashboards, reporting solutions and data pipelines. Demonstrated ability to ensure data quality, apply sound research methodologies, and communicate complex findings through clear, visually engaging reports and presentations.

Qualifications
Experience and high proficiency in data analytics methodologies, techniques and analytics software are essential.
Tertiary or Postgraduate level qualification/s in a relevant discipline will be highly regarded. This might include mathematics, statistics, social science or other fields where strong research methods and skills are a key element.
