Lifeguards are responsible for ensuring patron safety by supervising swimmers, enforcing pool rules, and responding to emergencies. They must also maintain facility cleanliness and provide professional customer service to all visitors.
Candidates must be at least 16 years old and possess or be willing to obtain CPR/AED/First Aid certification. Familiarity with water safety practices and the ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends, is required.

As a lifeguard, you’ll help keep patrons safe by supervising swimmers, responding to emergencies, enforcing rules, and providing excellent customer service. It’s a great opportunity to gain valuable experience, stay engaged, and make a real impact in your community while enjoying the summer weather.
Hours
Normal work week hours vary based on availabiliyt and need with shift being: afternoon (12-4pm), evening (4-9pm), and weekends. During the off-season, lifeguards are required to work at least 1 weekday and 1 weekend shift per week along with 4 hours of in-service training per month.

Family Recreation Center: The Family Recreation Center is nestled in the heart of Oak Brook. Located in the park district’s Family Recreation Center is our Aquatic Center, Premiere Fitness Club, and the administrative offices. The facility also houses a hardwood floor gymnasium with three basketball courts. Above the basketball courts is a 1/8 mile running and walking indoor track. Visit the Family Recreation center to participate in our wide variety of activities!
