What we're looking for: The Medical Imaging AI Strategist is RSNA’s senior-most leader for external, radiologist-facing artificial intelligence (AI) strategy. We are seeking a talented professional responsible for shaping how RSNA enables safe, effective, and clinically meaningful development and adoption of AI tools across radiology. The Medical Imaging AI Strategist will function across all RSNA departments to collectively advance a coherent, trusted, and radiologist-centered AI value proposition by setting strategic direction, establishing priorities, integrating efforts across departments, and representing the needs of the radiology community at the organizational levels.
This job might be for you if you're interested in:
- Working at a not-for-profit, mission-based organization that is focused on its members.
- A welcoming and supportive environment that gives you an opportunity to impact patient care.
- Excellent work-life balance in a hybrid or remote workplace environment.
- A competitive compensation package that includes outstanding medical/dental benefits, incredible long-term savings benefits, generous time off (including a week-long Winter Break), paid parental leave and more.
- Training and professional development opportunities.
What you'll do:
- Define and steward RSNA’s strategy to support real-world clinical AI adoption in radiology, aligned with RSNA’s mission and Board priorities.
- Advise senior leadership and the Board of Directors on emerging AI trends, risks, opportunities, and strategic tradeoffs affecting radiology practice.
- Ensure RSNA’s AI initiatives function as an integrated system.
- Identify gaps, redundancies, and emerging needs in RSNA’s AI portfolio and recommend strategic adjustments.
- Ensure guidance reflects the diversity of practice environments, including academic, community, and global settings.
- Ensure technical rigor is paired with clinically intelligible messaging to build trust among radiologists, patients, and external stakeholders.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with radiology leaders, practice management, informatics experts, academic and clinical researchers, industry partners, and federal agencies.
- Develop and maintain a partnership roadmap that advances RSNA’s external AI strategy through high-impact collaborations with academia, health systems, standards bodies, government, and industry.
- Define competency expectations (AI literacy, evaluation, workflow integration, and oversight) and align content to the needs of residents, fellows, practicing radiologists, and practice leaders.
- Partner with RSNA councils, committees, and external educators to curate faculty, develop learning pathways, and keep educational offerings current as technology and regulation evolve.
- Support development of RSNA’s radiologist-centered AI policy principles and external positions, coordinating with government relations and volunteer leadership as appropriate.
- Ensure RSNA’s practice resources reflect current policy expectations and support consistent, defensible implementation decisions.
Scope and Role Boundaries:
To maintain focus and strategy clarity, the Medical Imaging AI Strategist will not lead activities related to reimbursement advocacy, cybersecurity certification, post-market surveillance, or legal and liability frameworks.
What you'll need:
Required
- Recognized expertise in applied or clinical AI within medical imaging.
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical concepts into practical guidance for professional audiences.
- Experience working across multidisciplinary teams with external stakeholders and demonstrated collaboration with industry and academic institutions.
- Strong strategic judgment, communication, negotiation, and consensus-building skills
Preferred
- Experience in professional societies, standards organizations, or large multi-stakeholder initiatives.
