The EMT-B provides medical care and transportation for patients within their scope of practice as defined by the IDPH. They are responsible for maintaining high standards of patient safety and care during transit.
Candidates must hold an Illinois State EMT-B certification and possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record. Applicants must also pass a criminal background check, physical examination, and lifting agility test.

The primary duties and responsibilities of the Paramedic consist of, but are not limited to the following:
