The intern will assist the IEC engineering team in designing, commissioning, and supporting industrial control systems including PLCs and HMIs. They will also contribute to project documentation, infrastructure upgrades, and the development of company standards.
Candidates must be actively enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program with an expected graduation date between December 2026 and May 2028. Proficiency in MS Office applications and a strong drive for innovation and problem-solving are required.
The IEC Engineering team designs, commissions, and supports the control systems that help Tallgrass operate safely and efficiently. The team programs PLCs and HMIs, develop project documentation and company standards, and provides support for instrumentation, electrical, and control systems. There's a big focus on building tools that improve workflows, support engineering efficiency, and contribute to meaningful projects that impact day-to-day operations.
You will work side by side with experienced professionals as contributing members of diverse work teams who bring vision and opportunity to the forefront. As a Tallgrass Intern, you will partner with various departments in support of multiple projects on existing assets and operations, as well as the exploration and development of new avenues and opportunities. The internship is intended to help you develop your work skills and knowledge while providing a link between your educational goals and career objectives.
Students actively enrolled in an approved Bachelor’s degree program with expected graduation date of December 2026 through May 2028
Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software applications and platforms.
Ability to think strategically and manage change.
Our internships are temporary full-time positions, in-person/hybrid at our Lakewood office. We will host our Summer 2027 interns from May-August for 10 weeks.
