The Registered Respiratory Therapist oversees the diagnosis, treatment, and care management of patients with pulmonary disorders. This includes using various testing techniques to assist doctors in diagnosing disorders and determining treatment requirements.
Candidates must have an Associate's Degree, a High School Diploma or GED, and be a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certified by the National Board for Respiratory Care. Additionally, Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications from the American Heart Association are required.
The Registered Respiratory Therapist oversees the diagnosis, treatment, and care management of patients with pulmonary disorders. This position uses a variety of testing techniques to assist doctors in diagnosing disorders, and determines requirements for treatment, such as type, method and duration of therapy, precautions to be taken, or medication and dosages, compatible with physicians' orders.
