The Behavioral Health Specialist manages the safety and well-being of individuals in a crisis unit by conducting screenings, monitoring vital signs, and providing direct care. They also document interactions in the EHR and collaborate with the clinical team to ensure high standards of support.
Candidates must have a high school diploma plus at least 12 semester credit hours in social sciences and two years of human services experience, or three years of direct mental health care experience. Applicants must also be able to pass background checks and obtain BLS certification.

What You'll Do:
The Behavioral Health Specialist (BHS) is responsible for managing and maintaining the safety and well-being of individuals and staff within the unit, ensuring high standards of care and support for both adults and youth. This role involves conducting triage screener form, vital signs, patient safety, and providing exceptional customer services. The BHS will also accurately document services provided and significant interactions in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
